Daily Devotional: September 30, 2023 - Psalm 119:30

This verse is like a soft, sweet promise we make. A promise to follow what is true and good. Imagine being at a big crossroad. One path is easy but not right.

The other path is right but might have some bumps. This verse is like choosing the right path, even if it has some bumps.

It’s like deciding to share your toys, to say kind words, or to help someone in need. It’s not always easy, but it’s always right. God’s laws are like gentle whispers, telling us which way to go.

It also talks about setting our heart on these laws. That's like really, really wanting to follow what’s good, kind of like how we really want a big scoop of ice cream on a hot day.

We can think of God’s laws as beautiful steps that lead us to be better, to be more like God wants us to be. Each day, choosing the way of truth is like saying, “Yes, I want to follow God’s loving way.”

Dear God,

Thank you for showing me the way of truth, your beautiful way. Help me to choose it every day, even when it’s hard.

Please let my heart always want to follow your laws, like wanting sweet, cool ice cream on a sunny day. Let my steps walk in the path of truth and kindness you show.

Help me to listen to your gentle whispers, guiding me to share, to love, and to be kind.

I ask for your help to choose the way of truth, today and always.
